The latest Pirelli Scorpion summer tire features a new asymmetric tread pattern that allows for better braking compared to its predecessor and reduced rolling resistance, resulting in reduced fuel or battery consumption. This is due to a more even contact patch with the road surface and a new compound that draws inspiration from the technology applied to the current Cinturato P7. These tires benefit from a kind of "mechanical intelligence" thanks to the way silicon dioxide particles in the compound are distributed and interact with each other. This means that the tire's behavior actually changes depending on the outdoor temperature and driving conditions, providing drivers with a wide operating window of optimal performance.
