IK01A Ventus iON S X - tires for electric SUV vehicles. Hankook iON: A new global range of tires for electric vehicles supporting sustainable mobility. From May 2022, premium tire manufacturer Hankook will introduce iON, its first range of tires specially designed for electric vehicles, to the market. The characteristic feature of the new development is reduced rolling resistance, especially low-noise rolling behavior and high durability. Compared to conventional tires, this means for electric vehicle drivers: greater range per battery charge and a better driving experience. In addition, the new Hankook iON products are specially designed for instant high torque in high-performance electric vehicles. The new iON tires meet the demanding daily requirements of EV (Electric Vehicle) tires with a range of technical measures. In particular, Hankook compensates for the higher weights of electric vehicles - caused by the substantial weight of the power batteries - with higher load capacity. Among other things, particularly resistant aramid fibers effectively counteract deformation forces caused by especially high torque in electric vehicles. The tread compound with a high proportion of natural resin also ensures exemplary durability and reduced wear. Another special feature of the new compound is a high proportion of natural oils. As a result, iON products are not only more sustainable overall, but also have a positive impact on tire mileage.
